It is a common practice in Hinduism or Hindu Dharma to offer food to the Deities during ritualistic worship or puja at home or temples. This offering is called as Naivedya. It signifies the actual gross state of the individual. The last step in the worship of the goddess is the complete surrender of the deity at that time; Hence, the (Naivedya carrying) leaf is placed facing downward.

Tulsi has the greater then capacity to absorb and emit sattvik and Krushnatattva frquencies present in the universe. Therefore use of tulsi while offering naivedya imparts 2 benefits.
The basil leaves used during the delivery of nuvethi absorb the food emission technique. If the basilic leaves are given to the deity, the deity's principle can quickly absorb the frequency of leaves.
When a basil leaf is placed on the food, the Chadwick frequencies from basil leaves reduce this lid.

As part of the ritual ritual, before it is eaten, a Hindu goddess is provided food. Food preparation is prohibited before eating such foods or preventing meat. Food is offered before a deity and prayer. Then the food will be consumed as a sacred offering.

Cultural Beliefs:

Hindus offer cooked food or some fruit to a statue or statue of a deity, and then proclaim that it is the holy gift of Prasada. In our daily ritualistic worship (puja) too we offer naivedyam (food) to the Lord.

Naivedhya is not necessarily a food offering to God and actually means 'offering to God' in the stricter sense of the words. It could be any offering, tangible or intangible. A resolution, a promise or even a willingness to do, restrict or perform or from certain things can also be connoted as offering to God.

Naivedyam Items:

Fruits such as grapes, mango, coconut, jack fruit, banana, apple, lemon fruit, wood apple, rose apple, Indian cousberry, red dett and finerate.

Scientific Reasons:

The activity maybe changed into sacrifice. This reminds us that this is not the purpose of satisfying our tastes. This act also purifies the food.
food is digested through the gastric fire.
Life in our lives is best and purified with five anatomical functions such as respiration, waste, rotation, reverse and digestive systems.

Benefits:

Food is symbolically of our ignorance, which we place before God in spiritual wisdom. After he suffuses it with knowledge and light and breathes a new life into our bodies, it makes us divine. When we share the prasad with others, we share the knowledge we thus gained with fellow beings.
